Marco Minozzi was born in Rome in 1962.
From the outset of his training in painting, Marco would fully commit to developing his techniques of modelling the human figure and configuring pictorial spaces through architectural perspective. These classical, academic skills continue to engage him, although he has broadened his conceptual interests in order to respond to the visual culture of our times.
Having gained a significant degree of Beaux-Arts skills through the time-tested discipline of studying the paintings of the Old Masters of the Renaissance and Baroque periods within museums throughout Italy, Marco incorporates these methods with subjects of our contemporary culture, focusing to a great extent on condensed urban spaces, along with culturally marked or untouched natural landscapes.
As Marco strives to create representations of partly real and partly imagined landscapes, his paintings convey imagery that transcends the photographic. With palettes that are often in earthy tones and somewhat monochromatic, his oil paintings translate our visible world into instances of rare and unexpected beauty.
